Affin Bank Partners With Tealive To Launch Unique Concept Store In UiTM Branch

Affin Bank has teamed up with Tealive to integrate the local tea brand’s Tealive 3.0 concept store as part of its new branch within the Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Puncak Alam campus. This makes the Puncak Alam branch the first Affin Bank branch to feature this unique concept.

The concept store features a dedicated bakery corner called Tealive Eats, as well as a self-service standee at the entrance where customers can order and pay online before collecting purchases within the store.

According to the president and group chief executive officer of Affin Bank, Datuk Wan Razly Abdullah Wan Ali, the opening of this branch – which is Affin Bank’s 111th branch in total – marks a bold step in embarking on a new trend in banking, seeking to appeal to the younger generation.

“As the younger consumers are more digitally engaged, they naturally become more aware of events taking place within their surroundings. The introduction of this new concept of banking in the community could not be timelier and in line with our metamorphosis journey to become a progressive bank and to be the preferred bank among the youth segment,” said Datuk Wan Razly.

Meanwhile, the founder and chief executive officer of Loob Holding, Bryan Loo said that he hopes Tealive will assist Affin Bank in attracting younger customers with its integrated lifestyle tea menu, on top of creating a conducive social meeting place for them. Loob Holding owns Tealive, in addition to several other F&B brands.

Loo also commented that the brand has had prior experience in setting up bank cafes in Myanmar via its partnership with c. He added that this collaboration with Affin Bank is a good and timely one as the bank has proved to be a progressive group.

“There may be existing cafes in bank branches, but none are dedicated to serving bubble tea and other made-to-order lifestyle drinks like Tealive. We believe there will be even greater integration as banking services will converge with lifestyle retail choices. Our brands have to stay relevant to meet the ever-changing needs of consumers,” said Loo.

In celebration of this collaboration, Tealive is offering a 20% rebate for Affin Bank cardholders when they purchase from the concept store. Additionally, UiTM staff and students will also be entitled to a 10% discount. Both deals will run for the whole of 2021.
