Public Bank Offers 35% Cashback On EV Charging
Author Avatar

Public Bank is offering Visa Credit Cardmembers 35% cashback on eligible electric vehicle charging transactions. The campaign runs from 1 November 2025 until 30 April 2026, covering six participating months.

This promotion supports EV users by lowering the cost of charging when certain spending and registration conditions are met.

Who Can Join the Campaign

The campaign is open to all Public Bank Visa Credit Cardmembers, including Public Islamic Bank Visa Credit Cardmembers. Employees of Public Bank Group and their immediate families are also eligible.

Principal cardmembers must register using either PBe with the keyword PBBS or SMS PBBS to the designated number. Registrations must use the mobile number recorded with the bank. Supplementary cardmembers cannot register but their transactions count under the principal card.

How the 35% Cashback Works

To earn cashback in a given month, cardmembers need to spend at least RM1,000 in total retail transactions. Once this requirement is met, they will receive 35% cashback on eligible EV charging transactions for that month.

The cashback is capped at RM50 per month and RM300 for the entire campaign period. Monthly cashback is offered on a first-come, first-served basis, with a fixed monthly allocation. Cashback will be credited within four to eight weeks after each participating month.

What Counts As EV Charging Transactions

Eligible EV charging transactions are identified by Merchant Category Codes (MCC), which are system tags used by payment networks to classify different types of businesses.

For this campaign, only transactions under MCC 5552 and MCC 7523 qualify. These MCCs typically represent EV charging stations and related charging services across participating networks and providers.

Retail Spending That Counts Toward Eligibility

Retail transactions include physical store purchases, online purchases, and the full purchase amounts for selected instalment plans. Spending such as utilities, insurance premiums, government-related payments, recurring charges, and cash withdrawals does not count toward the RM1,000 requirement. Only transactions dated within the same month are included in that month’s calculation.

Cashback Limits and Key Conditions

Once the RM1,000 retail spending requirement is met, cashback is calculated based on eligible EV charging transactions. For example, a cardmember who spends RM1,000 on retail purchases and RM50 on EV charging in the same month would receive RM17.50 in cashback. If the EV charging amount is higher, cashback will be given up to the monthly limit of RM50.

Cashback is credited to the principal cardmember’s account, and it may need to be returned if any qualifying transaction is reversed later. Cardmembers taking part in this campaign will not be eligible for other Public Bank credit card usage campaigns during the same period, and cashback cannot be transferred or exchanged for cash.
