As of 1 April 2025, RHB Bank Berhad and RHB Islamic Bank Berhad have begun phasing out the distribution of paper statements and advices, moving customers to electronic formats in line with the Bank’s broader sustainability and data security goals. The transition to electronic statements and advices, referred to as eStatements and eAdvices, is now underway and applies to a wide range of account types.

The change affects holders of savings and current accounts, fixed deposit and multi-currency accounts, credit cards, and various financing products including auto, personal, home, and ASB (Financing), as well as investors in unit trusts and direct bond or sukuk products. Customers are now expected to access their eStatements and eAdvices through RHB Online Banking.

Statements can be viewed by logging into RHB Online Banking and selecting the appropriate account type under the ‘Accounts’ menu. The ‘Statements’ tab provides access to monthly statements, while the ‘Advices’ tab, applicable to Unit Trust and Direct Bond/Sukuk Investments, shows relevant transaction records. Customers who have not yet registered for online banking may do so here.

Those who prefer to receive their eStatements or eAdvices by email can request this option through their Relationship Manager or by visiting any RHB branch. Hardcopies of statements or advices for the past 12 months are also available upon request, free of charge, at all branches.

The Bank noted that statements and advices are issued only for customers who maintain balances in Unit Trust or Direct Bond/Sukuk accounts. This ongoing transition underscores RHB’s commitment to reducing paper usage and enhancing the efficiency, accessibility, and security of customer communications.

Good evening Sir, does RHB bank charges senior citizen for monthly credit card statements by post. I am 78 years old and very afraid to go online. I go to the banks personally to update transactions whenever required. Other banks send me by post free of charge my monthly savings, current and credit cards statements although I have an email. Thank you

According to RHB’s latest terms, paper statements are only sent if you’ve opted for them, and the bank can stop sending if your account becomes dormant. In that case, you can still get your paper statement at any branch by bringing the dormant account notice.

For seniors, I’d still recommend checking directly with RHB to confirm if any paper statements are free.
