Spend On Your Maybank Card And You Could Win A New Car
Author Avatar

Everyday spending on groceries, petrol, or shopping could now double as lucky draw entries for a new car. Maybank has launched its Cards Spend & Win Mystery Cars campaign, giving credit and charge cardholders a chance to win vehicles or cash back simply by using their cards for eligible transactions during the campaign period from 9 March 2026 to 8 June 2026.

Five Cars And RM1,000 Cash Back Up For Grabs

The campaign offers a mix of grand prizes and smaller rewards. Five winners will receive a car each, with the vehicles including the Honda WR-V, Honda City Hatchback, Proton X50, Proton e.MAS 7 electric vehicle, and Perodua QV-E electric vehicle.

In addition to the grand prizes, 60 winners will receive RM1,000 in cash back credited to their Maybank card accounts. These prizes are divided across the three card networks used in the campaign, with 20 winners each for Visa, Mastercard, and American Express cards.

Spending With Your Card Earns Entries

Participation requires a one-time registration by sending the SMS keyword “REWARDS” to 66628. Once registered, cardholders earn one lucky draw entry for every RM100 spent in a single retail transaction.

Certain types of spending generate additional entries. Grocery and petrol purchases can earn double entries, while transactions using Maybank Islamic cards or purchases made through the EzyPay instalment plan may also increase the number of entries accumulated. Customers who are approved for a new principal Maybank credit or charge card during the campaign period receive an additional ten entries.

Some Transactions Do Not Qualify

Not every card transaction counts toward the lucky draw. Wallet top-ups, payments made to government bodies, and donations to charities are excluded from earning entries.

Other non-qualifying transactions include balance transfers, cash advances, instalment repayments, and fees or charges imposed by the bank. These exclusions mean the campaign is mainly tied to regular retail spending rather than banking transactions or account servicing activities.

Winners Selected After Campaign Ends

Once the campaign ends, Maybank will select winners using a randomised process based on the number of qualifying entries accumulated by participants. Each eligible cardholder can win only one prize during the campaign.

Grand prize winners will be contacted by the bank within 16 weeks after the campaign period ends. While the bank covers the purchase price of the car, winners will still need to pay for related costs such as vehicle registration, road tax, and insurance.

Everyday Spending Turns Into Lucky Draw Entries

The campaign effectively turns routine credit card spending into entries for a prize draw over a three-month period. For cardholders who already rely on their credit cards for groceries, petrol, and retail purchases, participation does not require changing spending habits.

However, the outcome remains a lucky draw, meaning the number of entries improves the odds but does not guarantee a prize. For participants, the campaign is simply an additional incentive layered on top of everyday spending rather than a financial benefit that changes the cost of using the card.
