Maybank has launched the Maybank American Express Explorer Business Platinum Card, a new credit card aimed at business owners. Offering enhanced benefits as well as the ability to earn Membership Rewards (MR) points for business transactions, it makes for a compelling option in a relatively untouched space.

With a host of travel perks, Maybank states that this card is designed to be the go-to card of choice for business owners for travel expenses. Cardholders not only earn double the MR points for overseas transactions, they also enjoy 6x complimentary PriorityPass airport lounges worldwide – and up to RM1 million in complimentary travel protection if they purchase their flights and hotel stays with the card.

All local spend with the card will still earn MR points at a rate of 5 MR for every RM5 spent. On top of that, the Amex Explorer Business Platinum comes with a 3-year annual fee waiver without any spending requirements. And to further sweeten the deal, cardholders will enjoy a bonus 110% MR points if they spend a minimum of RM60,000 on local transactions in a year.
