CIMB Bank is now running its CNY Bonus Points campaign, which allows selected credit cardholders to earn up to 8x Bonus Points on specific local expenses when they meet the specified minimum spend requirements. Already ongoing, it is set to run until 29 February 2024.
Open exclusively to customers holding the CIMB Preferred Visa Infinite/-i, CIMB Visa Infinite, and CIMB Visa Signature credit cards, the campaign is essentially expanding the cards’ existing benefits so that you can earn more Bonus Points on additional local spend categories. As indicated in the campaign page, you’ll be able to earn the following amount of Bonus Points when you spend on the various local expenses listed below:
| Eligible local spend category | CIMB Preferred Visa Infinite/-i | CIMB Visa Infinite | CIMB Visa Signature |

Outside of this campaign, the original perks of the CIMB Preferred Visa Infinite card itself lets you earn 8x Bonus Points for every RM1 spent on dining and overseas shopping, as well as 1x Bonus Points for other local spend. Meanwhile, the Preferred Visa Infinite-i card offers 8x Bonus Points for every RM1 spent on dining, overseas shopping, and zakat or sadaqah/charity payments, as well as 1x Bonus Points for other local spend.

As for the CIMB Visa Infinite card, all cardholders can earn 5x Bonus Points for every RM1 spent on dining and overseas shopping, and 1x Bonus Points for other local spend. The CIMB Visa Signature, on the other hand, offers 2x and 1x Bonus Points for every RM1 spent overseas and locally, respectively.
