CTOS Offers Free MyCTOS Credit Score Reports To Celebrate Merdeka Month

Credit reporting agency CTOS is currently offering free MyCTOS Score credit reports (with CCRIS) for new customers who sign up for CTOS’ self-check service via its website. This offer is made in conjunction with the upcoming National Day celebration, and will run until 31 August 2023.

In its press release, CTOS explained that the free report – which ordinarily costs RM26.50 per report – will contain your CCRIS, which is a statement of all the credit or loans that you have with banks. It provides valuable insight into your credit health, including detailed debt information, payment histories for credit cards and loans, account balances, credit limits, and credit inquiries.

In addition to that, the report also displays other relevant financial information, such as ongoing legal cases that you’re involved in, bankruptcies, directorships, and other non-bank debts – all information that financial institutions will use to decide if they should approve or offer you credit.

In fact, group chief executive officer of CTOS Digital, Erick Hamburger said that more Malaysians have begun to realise the importance of regularly checking their credit scores to maintain a good credit health. This is indicated by the increase in average credit score of the Malaysian population from 663 in 2020 to 678 in 2022.

“CTOS plays an important role in advocating essential credit health practices. Credit health is a vital aspect of financial wellbeing. It affects the ability to secure loans, get better interest rates, and even impacts various life milestones like buying a car or purchasing a home. By regularly monitoring credit reports, addressing inaccuracies, and practising responsible credit habits, consumers can proactively strengthen their financial future,” said Hamburger.

Note that only new CTOS customers are allowed to participate in this campaign to claim a free report. If you’re eligible and would like to get your free MyCTOS report, simply head on over to CTOS’ website here and sign up for a CTOS ID account. Once successfully registered, log into your dashboard, and scroll down to click on “View Last Report” to claim your free MyCTOS report.

To date, more than three million Malaysians have signed up for the CTOS self-check service. Aside from the MyCTOS score report (with CCRIS), CTOS also provides other offerings, including the CTOS SecureID that comes with fraud protection and credit monitoring.
