BigPay and CTOS Data Systems Sdn Bhd have announced a collaboration that allows BigPay users to view their CTOS credit score directly within the app. The feature is intended to help Malaysians understand how their credit health affects access to financial products.
Through the collaboration, customers can log in to the BigPay app to access their CTOS Score, which provides a snapshot of their credit profile. Having this information at hand is expected to help individuals make more informed financial decisions, while also learning how responsible behaviour can improve their creditworthiness over time.
BigPay currently serves over 1.6 million customers, with a large share of the younger generations. Many of them are already active users of AirAsia MOVE, where BigPay functions as a preferred payment option for travel bookings.
Travel remains a priority for younger Malaysians. According to global data, leisure made up 67.8% of international arrivals to ASEAN in 2024, compared with 13.9% for business travel.
Findings from the RinggitPlus Malaysian Financial Literacy Survey 2024 suggest why these tools are timely. The survey found that 95% of Malaysians use at least one e-wallet, and 45% already have a digital bank account, reflecting a strong shift towards digital-first financial services.
At the same time, many Malaysians remain under financial pressure. More than half (53%) reported spending all or more than what they earn each month, while 55% said they felt anxious, frustrated, or embarrassed about their current financial situation.
When seeking guidance, social media has overtaken family, friends, and banks as the most relied-on and trusted source of financial information. These findings highlight both the opportunity and the risks in how Malaysians learn about money.
To mark the launch, CTOS and BigPay are running a campaign from 2 September to 2 December 2025. Customers who purchase a CTOS Score Report through the BigPay app during this period will be entered into a draw for return flight tickets worth RM3,000 to Perth, sponsored by CTOS. Two winners will be selected.
