CTOS Data Systems Sdn Bhd (CTOS) has partnered with Maybank Islamic Berhad to introduce a pioneering Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) initiative. This collaboration seeks to empower both SMEs and retail customers by offering personalised, Shariah-compliant financial solutions tailored to Malaysians’ unique needs, alongside attractive incentives.

By combining CTOS’s advanced credit scoring and risk management tools with Maybank Islamic’s Shariah-compliant banking services, the partnership creates a seamless, customer-centric ecosystem that enables individuals and businesses to make informed financial decisions while adhering to Islamic principles.

As part of this initiative, CTOS and Maybank Islamic are offering exclusive benefits to SMEs, including complimentary services, while retail customers can access specially tailored Maybank Islamic products with enticing incentives. Among these is an exciting opportunity to win a trip to Korea.

Erick Hamburger, Group CEO of CTOS Digital Berhad, highlighted the significance of this collaboration, stating that beyond being the first instance of a credit bureau partnering with Maybank Islamic, it represents a vital step in encouraging SMEs to embrace digital financing, business digitisation services, and halal certification facilitation.

“What’s more, it provides retail customers with tailored solutions that suit the Malaysian lifestyle. We are pleased that this initiative expands the breadth of CTOS’ financial literacy programs, empowering Malaysians with a deeper understanding of credit and risk management,” he said.

Dr Muhd Ramadhan Fitri Bin Ellias, Director of Strategic Programme at Maybank Islamic, described the partnership as a key milestone in the bank’s mission to deliver innovative, Shariah-compliant financial solutions. By integrating CTOS’s credit risk management tools with Maybank Islamic’s banking services, he explained, the collaboration empowers both SMEs and individual customers to make well-informed financial decisions, ultimately supporting sustainable business growth.

Until 30 April 2025, CTOS is offering a range of incentives for Maybank Islamic’s SME and retail clients. These include free CTOS Company Reports for the first 10,000 applicants, providing valuable insights into potential business partners; a two-month free trial of the CTOS Credit Manager subscription with RM250 cashback, allowing businesses to assess credit profiles, monitor client finances, and improve repayment rates; and halal facilitation services worth RM5,000, available to the first 100 SME First Account-i holders who register via the Halal2u page on Maybank2u’s website.
