Prudential Assurance Malaysia Bhd (PAMB) has launched two gender-specific critical illness plans that are aimed at addressing the different health and risk needs specific to men and women. Dubbed the PRUMan and PRULady plans, they offer up to 260% coverage for gender-specific illnesses for men and women – such as breast and prostate cancer – along with a range of various other lifestyle perks.
In a statement, Prudential noted that PRUMan is the first male-specific insurance plan in Malaysia, and along with PRULady, the two comprehensive plans offer up to RM300,000 coverage for the following:

In addition to these, there are also other perks that are on offer, including the Life Celebration Benefit, where policyholders are rewarded with up to 3% of their basic sum assured when they celebrate one out of ten key milestones in life (claimable up to three times). These include the purchase of your first property, a career promotion, and marriage.
Additionally, you can tap into the Golden Cash Rewards and Money Back Benefit, where you’ll be eligible to get 110% of total premium paid (TTP) as an additional fund injection for your retirement savings. This amount will be paid out in stages: at the age of 60 (5% of TPP), the age of 65 (5% of TPP), and the age of 70 (100% of TPP).

In terms of the premium that needs to be paid, the PRUMan and PRULady plans start from as low as RM53.00 per month. Note that this cost will vary according to the amount of coverage that you opt for, as well as your age and gender; the plans are available to those aged between 15 to 40 years old, with coverage provided up to the age of 70.
