The Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Elevated Highway (AKLEH), which belongs to concessionaire Projek Lintasan Kota Holdings (PROLINTAS), is the latest highway to kickstart its open payment system trial. With this, motorists travelling along the highway is now able to pay their toll fees using credit and debit cards.
Those who wish to try out the new payment system on AKLEH will need to keep an eye out for the special lanes at the Datuk Keramat Toll Plaza, which will be marked by a signage. You can use your Visa, Mastercard, and MyDebit cards to make your payments via the card payment terminal (which is installed beside the existing Touch ‘n Go (TNG) terminal to accept TNG payments).
In the event that your debit or credit card payment fails to go through, PROLINTAS said that you can immediately opt to pay via the usual TNG option, namely your TNG card. This, in turn, will ensure that the traffic remains smooth.
Following this latest update from PROLINTAS and AKLEH, a total of nine out of the twelve highways that were slated to participate in the Works Ministry’s open payment system have begun testing the system. The Kuala Lumpur-Putrajaya Expressway (MEX) had been the first of the lot to begin its trial, and it was swiftly followed by other highways, including the Damansara-Puchong Expressway (LDP), the Shah Alam Expressway (KESAS), and the New Pantai Expressway.
The last three highways that are expected to begin trailing the system soon include the Guthrie Corridor Expressway (GCE), Butterworth-Kulim Expressway (BKE), and Penang Bridge (JPP).
