EPF Launches i-Akaun Secure Feature
Author Avatar

The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) has introduced a new security feature called i-Akaun Secure, aimed at streamlining and safeguarding online transactions through its mobile app. This feature is designed to strengthen the platform’s resilience against unauthorised access by allowing users to approve or reject transactions with a single tap on their device.

To enable i-Akaun Secure, users must activate push notifications in the EPF mobile app settings. Once activated, transactions can be authorised directly through the app without the need for a six-digit SMS code. Currently, the feature is available only for transactions involving withdrawals from Account 3, also known as Akaun Fleksibel. EPF has stated that the feature will be expanded to include other types of transactions in the future, such as withdrawal applications, registrations, and nominations.

It is important to note that i-Akaun Secure is limited to the mobile app and cannot be used to authorise transactions made through the EPF desktop website. The feature is also device-specific, meaning it can only be linked to a single smartphone. Existing app users do not need to take any action, as the setup process is automated.

In the event that a user loses their device, they are advised to contact EPF or visit a branch to deactivate i-Akaun Secure and safeguard their account. This step ensures that unauthorised individuals cannot use the linked device to access the account.

For more information about i-Akaun Secure and its features, members can refer to the EPF mobile app or visit the official EPF website.
