You Can Now Use Samsung Pay For Online Shopping In Malaysia
Author Avatar

Samsung Pay can now be used across a broad network of e-commerce merchants in Malaysia. This update extends the wallet’s use beyond physical payment terminals and into online shopping. The rollout is enabled through Samsung’s collaboration with the payment service provider Fiuu, which provides the acquiring infrastructure that supports online acceptance.

Samsung Pay Extends Into Online Shopping

With Fiuu providing the backend connectivity, merchants can integrate Samsung Pay through a single system. This removes the need for separate integrations for each supported bank and allows merchants to reach a wider base of Samsung device users.

Samsung has also enabled Samsung Pay on its own Malaysian online store. Additional e-commerce platforms are expected to begin supporting the payment method over time. Current coverage includes sectors such as fashion, electronics, travel, food and beverage, pharmacy, health, wellness, entertainment, and other lifestyle categories.

Support From Eleven Malaysian Banks

Samsung Pay currently supports cards from eleven banks and payment providers in Malaysia. The list includes Alliance Bank, Bank Islam, Bank Muamalat, CIMB Bank, Hong Leong Bank, HSBC Bank, Maybank, Public Bank, RHB Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, and Wise. Card support varies by issuer and covers Visa and Mastercard credit, debit, and prepaid cards.

Multi-bank support allows Samsung Pay to be used by a large segment of banked consumers. For merchants, Fiuu’s acquiring connectivity brings these issuers under a single integration, which helps streamline onboarding and acceptance processes.

Samsung Rewards Now Apply To Online Transactions

Samsung Rewards Points now apply to online Samsung Pay transactions in the same way they apply to in-store payments. This addresses a long-standing gap where many mobile wallet rewards were limited to physical purchases.

Consumers can redeem Samsung Rewards Points through the Samsung Rewards catalogue, which includes vouchers for selected food and beverage outlets and Samsung products. Points can also be used to offset the price of a new Samsung device. This provides a consistent rewards experience across both online and in-store transactions.

How To Activate Samsung Pay

To activate Samsung Pay, users can launch the app and add a payment card by scanning it, entering the details manually, or using NFC. The card will be ready for use once the user accepts the bank’s Terms of Service and completes the verification process.

For online payments, users can select Samsung Pay at checkout on participating merchant websites. For in-store payments, Samsung Wallet can be accessed by swiping up on the device screen, double-tapping the side key, or opening the app directly.

Malaysia’s Growing Digital Payment Landscape

The rollout takes place as Malaysian consumers continue to adopt digital payments and online shopping. Extending Samsung Pay to e-commerce platforms aligns with this trend by allowing users to connect their mobile wallets to online purchases in a straightforward manner.

As more merchants come online, Samsung Pay’s availability across both physical and digital channels provides users with a consistent payment option in Malaysia’s evolving digital landscape.
