Maxis has launched the Hotlink Prepaid Unlimited plan, a new prepaid pack that offers unlimited data and calls to all networks. The telco has also revamped its existing Hotlink SUPERRR pack to Hotlink Prepaid Video, a prepaid plan intended for users who often stream high-speed, high quality video entertainment.

The New Hotlink Prepaid Unlimited Plan

The new Hotlink Prepaid Unlimited plan is available with monthly, weekly, and daily options. The monthly plan is further divided into another two choices for subscribers: Hotlink Prepaid Unlimited RM35 and Hotlink Prepaid Unlimited RM45. The first option offers users unlimited data capped at 3Mbps, whereas the second provides unlimited data capped at 6Mbps. Both plans come with unlimited calls, as well as free premium access to Viu via Maxis TV.

Meanwhile, the daily and weekly plans cost RM3 and RM12, respectively, with their internet speed capped at 3Mbps. These, too, come with unlimited calls, but do not offer access to Viu.

Also, if you find yourself needing extra high-speed data, there are add-on boosters offering uncapped speed available as well. At RM1, you can get one hour of uncapped and unlimited data. Alternatively, you can pay RM3 for a daily pass, which gives you 3GB of data, or RM5 for a weekly pass with 5GB of data. Note that these add-on offers include both mobile and hotspot usage.

To further sweeten the deal, subscribers to the Hotlink Prepaid Unlimited plans will also be able to enjoy 10% cashback when they make app and in-app purchases on Google Play Store and the App Store.

At present, Maxis is selling its Hotlink Prepaid Unlimited starter pack at RM10, but it does not offer any unlimited perks until you have subscribed to a plan. The starter pack only contains RM5 worth of credit that is valid for 5 days, along with 500MB of free basic internet. Voice calls, too, cost 15 sen/30 seconds, and SMSes will be charged at 15 sen each.

There have been comparisons drawn between Maxis’ new prepaid pack with U Mobile’s Giler Unlimited plans, particularly the GX30 and GX38. Unlike Maxis’ Hotlink Prepaid Unlimited plan, U Mobile’s Giler Unlimited plans do not come with unlimited voice calls. Instead, it offers 3GB of hotspot data.

The Revamped Hotlink Prepaid Video Plan

Aside from launching the Hotlink Prepaid Unlimited plan, Maxis has also revamped the Hotlink SUPERRR pack to Hotlink Prepaid Video, offering a better deal to customers who often stream high-speed, high-quality video entertainment.

Prior to this, the Hotlink SUPERRR pack is marketed with a heavy emphasis on YouTube. It offers 10GB of monthly free data for YouTube entertainment if you remain active throughout the month. Additionally, you can redeem twice the internet quota that you’ve purchased for free, provided you buy the pass through the Hotlink app. The catch, though, is that this free internet quota can only be used for YouTube and tonton.

After the revamp, Hotlink Prepaid Video now offers its 10GB of monthly free high-speed video internet each month for a wider variety of streaming sites, such as YouTube, Viu, and iflix. Moreover, you’ll be entitled to premium HD entertainment via Maxis TV. The offer to redeem twice the internet quota that you’ve purchased, at no extra cost, also still stands, and you can now use the free internet quota at even more streaming sites.
