Citibank Revises Citi ThankYou Rewards Conversion Rates For Frequent Flyer Programs

UPDATE 4/6/2019: Citibank has also announced changes to the redemption rates for AirAsia BIG and Asia Miles. The article has been updated.

Citibank’s Points Transfer programme allows eligible Citibank cardholders to redeem their rewards points for air miles with participating travel loyalty programmes. This month, Citibank will be revising the redemption rates for all of its travel loyalty programmes.

The new redemption rates will take effect on 6 June 2019, except for the AirAsia BIG and Asia Miles programmes which will see their new rates kick in later on 23 June 2019.

Garuda Indonesia 9,200 points = 1,000 GFF Miles 18,000 points = 1,000 GFF Miles
Malaysia Airlines Enrich 10,500 points = 1,000 Enrich Miles 25,000 points = 1,000 Enrich Miles
Qatar Airways Privilege Club 9,200 points = 1,000 Qmiles 18,000 points = 1,000 Qmiles
Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer 3,500 points = 500 KrisFlyer Miles 7,500 points = 500 KrisFlyer Miles
Thai Royal Orchid Plus 11,000 points = 1,500 Royal Orchid Plus Miles 24,000 points = 1,500 Royal Orchid Plus Miles
IHG Rewards Club 6,000 points = 1,000 IHG Rewards Club Points 12,000 points = 1,000 IHG Rewards Club Points

The revision will not be applicable to all Citi credit cards, however. The credit cards that will be affected by this change are:

  • Citi Rewards Card
  • Citi Rewards Platinum Card
  • Citi Gold Card
  • Citi Silver Card
  • Citi Clear Card
  • Citi Choice Card
  • Citi Business Card (Personal or Business underwriting)

Meanwhile, the redemption rates for the Citi Prestige Card and Citi PremierMiles Card will remain unchanged and are not affected by the above amendments.
