Grab Launches Beta Version Of Live Shopping Feature, GrabLive, For Malaysian Users
Author Avatar

Grab has rolled out the beta version of its live shopping feature for Malaysian users, dubbed simply GrabLive (BETA). Launched in collaboration with BeLive Technology, a Singapore-based livestreaming solutions provider, the new function will enable merchants on Grab’s platform to have real-time engagement with their customers.

Like other livestreaming services, GrabLive comes with a chat function and a virtual gifting function that allow consumers to show their support for the merchants on air. You can also tap on a button to the bottom right that shows you available promo codes that you can take advantage off when making purchases during live shows.

To access GrabLive, just scroll all the way down to the “Keep Discovering” section in your Grab app, and tap on the GrabLive (BETA) tile. If this is your first time accessing GrabLive, you’ll be prompted to key in your mobile number, after which you’re required to verify your identity with a six-digit verification code sent via SMS. Once done, you’ll be able to access the new feature and watch any live shows that are ongoing.

As of today, GrabLive has run several local livestreams in conjunction with the upcoming Ramadan celebrations, collaborating with well-known brands – namely LILIT and Zalora – to do so. The highlights of these streams included showcases of the latest fashion for Hari Raya, as well as exclusive one-day deals and giveaways. There are no upcoming livestreams scheduled as of yet, but more is expected to come soon.

Prior to its launch in Malaysia, Grab had debuted GrabLive in both Thailand and Vietnam. It was made available to those markets back in early March 2022.
