Shopee Malaysia has officially partnered with YouTube through the YouTube Shopping Affiliate Programme, opening up new monetisation avenues for local content creators. This collaboration allows creators to seamlessly tag Shopee products in their YouTube videos, Shorts, and livestreams.
This marks a major milestone in the growth of Shopee’s Affiliate Programme, which has seen explosive growth across livestream and short-form content platforms. In 2024 alone, Shopee Affiliate orders surged 81% year-over-year. Shopee Live affiliate orders skyrocketed by 248%, while Shopee Video affiliate orders grew an astonishing 63 times between April and December. The programme is open to everyone — from seasoned creators to everyday users — offering opportunities to earn through tagged content, product reviews, and livestreams, all powered by Shopee’s Affiliate Marketing Solution (AMS).

Over 200 creators attended the event, which featured interactive experiences like live product-tagging demos, “Shopping Missions”, networking with brand sponsors, and insights from top YouTube creators. For many, this initiative marks a pivotal shift in how they view and create content.
