ShopeePay Launches Standalone App To Simplify Digital Finance
Author Avatar

ShopeePay has unveiled its standalone digital finance hub with the launch of the ShopeePay app. This new platform extends financial services beyond e-commerce and the Shopee app, providing users with a streamlined and accessible e-wallet experience.

Previously integrated within the Shopee app, ShopeePay enabled users to manage e-wallet funds, Buy Now Pay Later transactions, bill payments, insurance policies, and more. Now, with its dedicated app, ShopeePay offers a more refined and independent financial ecosystem. Existing Shopee users can log in using their Shopee credentials, while new users can sign up with their mobile numbers.

Designed with accessibility and security in mind, the ShopeePay app provides a simplified user interface, ensuring a seamless experience across different devices. The app is optimised to reduce strain on mobile performance, making it easier for a wider audience to manage their finances. Enhanced security features, including two-factor authentication (2FA) and Tap Secure, provide an additional layer of protection to ensure transactions remain secure.

The ShopeePay app serves as an all-in-one finance hub, consolidating key financial tools into a single platform. Users can make DuitNow QR transfers, including Transfer by ID Type, which is no longer available on the Shopee app. The app also supports in-store QR payments via ShopeePay and SPayLater, a variety of insurance and takaful policies, bill and utilities payments for services such as water, electricity, and PTPTN, and an e-voucher wallet for discounts and promotions.

Looking ahead, ShopeePay plans to expand its offerings with features such as cross-border transfers, enhanced rewards and savings programmes, and transportation ticket purchases. The company has also confirmed that all e-wallet top-ups, including those made via credit card and bank transfers, will remain free of additional charges.

To mark the launch of the ShopeePay app, users can enjoy exclusive online and offline deals when making payments via ShopeePay and SPayLater. Additionally, as part of a special promotion, users who send money packets to five family members or friends via the ShopeePay app will receive up to RM3 credited into their accounts.

The ShopeePay app is now available for download on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
