Public Bank Launches PB Journey App To Encourage Financial Planning For Children
Author Avatar

Public Bank has launched a new mobile app, the PB Journey App, aimed at helping parents to educate their children on financial planning. The app is part of the PB Journey Programmes initiative and is meant to assist parents in inculcating the savings habit in their children.

The PB Journey app for parents and children consists of two modules, the Pocket Money module and the Goal Setting module. The features are aimed at creating interactive learning between parents and children on the value of money and achieving savings goals, as well as providing opportunities for more interaction between parents and children during movement control order periods.

Under the Pocket Money module, children will be rewarded with pocket money as soon as they complete a particular task, whereas the Goal Setting module allows children to save their pocket money and earn interest.

Parents can help their children set savings goals, allowing them to save gradually during the goal tenure selected to achieve their targeted goal amount. The goal’s interest rate is calculated daily and credited monthly at attractive savings interest rates. There are also educational videos made available on the app.

To register for the PB Journey App, you will need to have a WISE Savings Account for your children and sign up for mobile banking under PB Engage. The PB Journey App is available for download on the App Store, Google Play Store, and Huawei App Gallery. Public Bank is also running a special launch campaign for the PB Journey App from now until 31 October 2021.
