E-commerce platform Shopee has rolled out a new Self Collection shipping option that lets you pick up your purchases from a collection point that is convenient to you.

With this new feature, you will no longer need to worry about missing a delivery from Shopee because no one is at home or are around to receive it. Instead, you can request for your parcels to be sent to a collection point that is nearest to you, after which you can pick it up at your own convenience (within the operating hours of the collection point).

Currently limited only to Klang Valley users, the new shipping option allows you to collect your parcels from over 300 collection points, offered via three partner stores: Mail Boxes, Shopee Xpress, and ParcelHub.

To make use of this Self Collection feature, you will need to tap on “Shipping Option” at the checkout page when purchasing your items on the Shopee app. From there, select “Self-Collection”, after which you’ll be prompted to choose a collection point. You can key in your postcode or address to find the collection point that is nearest to you. You’ll also be required to key in your name and contact number before you can proceed to place your order.

Once your parcel arrives at the collection point, Shopee will send you both an in-app notification as well as a text message. It will also provide you with a six-digit PIN code, which you must present to the agent at the collection point to pick up your parcel.

Shopee’s FAQ for the Self Collection feature also clarifies that you can send someone else to collect on your behalf, as long as that person has the right PIN code, full phone number used to place the order, and the tracking number. Additionally, you are required to pick up your parcel within seven days after its arrival at the collection point, after which the order will be cancelled, and you will be refunded depending on the payment method used. For those who made multiple orders, you will only need to provide one of the multiple PINs sent to you to collect your parcels.

Note that the Self Collection option is still being rolled out in stages, so only selected sellers are currently able to offer this convenience. It will, however, eventually be made available for all sellers.
