AFFIN Credit Cards Now Supported On Google Pay With Cashback And Prizes
Author Avatar

AFFIN credit cardholders can now make payments using Google Pay for both in-store and online transactions. To mark the rollout, AFFIN Bank has introduced the “Tap. Pay. Go.” campaign, which offers cashback on the first Google Pay transaction and a chance to win a Google Pixel 10. The campaign runs from 2 December 2025 until 28 February 2026, according to the bank’s official terms and conditions.

Two Rewards For Using Google Pay

The campaign provides two main rewards for eligible cardholders. The first reward is a 100% cashback on the cardholder’s first Google Pay transaction, capped at RM10. Cashback is limited by the campaign’s overall allocation and is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

The second reward is entry into a lucky draw. Cardholders earn one entry for every RM30 spent in a single Google Pay transaction. Each entry increases a cardholder’s chance of winning a Google Pixel 10 at the end of the campaign.

Eligibility And How To Participate

The campaign is open to new and existing AFFIN credit cardholders whose accounts remain active and in good standing throughout the campaign period. Only transactions made with AFFIN credit cards qualify for rewards. Debit card transactions, while supported on Google Pay, are not eligible for this specific campaign.

To participate, cardholders must add their AFFIN Card to Google Pay through the Google Wallet app on a compatible Android device. The device must support NFC for contactless in-store payments. Once the card is added successfully, cardholders can begin using it immediately for eligible transactions.

What Counts As Eligible Spend

Eligible spend includes retail transactions made through Google Pay, whether in-store or online. Certain transactions do not qualify for rewards. These include card account payments, cash advances, e-wallet reloads, instalment plan conversions, refunded or disputed transactions, and transactions considered unlawful or non-retail in nature.

Foreign currency transactions made through Google Pay will be converted to Ringgit Malaysia based on AFFIN’s prevailing exchange rates. Supplementary card spending is counted under the principal cardholder’s account for the purpose of reward calculations.

How Rewards And Winners Are Selected

Cashback recipients are determined based on the earliest successful Google Pay transactions made during the campaign period, subject to the total cashback allocation. Cashback will be credited to the cardholder’s account within sixty days after the campaign ends.

For the lucky draw, AFFIN will conduct a computerised selection process based on all eligible entries. Shortlisted cardholders will be contacted by the bank and must answer a verification question. AFFIN will use the contact details registered in the cardholder’s account when making these calls. Cardholders must ensure their accounts remain valid and not overdue during the reward fulfilment period.

Using Google Pay With AFFIN Cards

Cardholders can continue earning any regular rewards tied to their AFFIN Cards, such as cashback, points, or air miles, when payments are made through Google Pay. Security features supported by Google Pay include device authentication, tokenisation of card information, and the ability to suspend or remove the card from the device if it is lost or stolen.

Google Pay can also be used for international transactions where contactless payments are accepted, making it a convenient option for travel and overseas spending.

Before taking part in the campaign, cardholders should review the full Terms and Conditions published by AFFIN Bank [PDF]. These documents provide details on eligible transactions, reward calculations, campaign timelines, and card requirements.
