AmBank’s Visa, Mastercard Credit Cards Are Now Supported On Google Wallet
Author Avatar

AmBank has officially announced that its Visa and Mastercard credit cards are now supported on Google Wallet, allowing them to be added to and used for payments on the platform. With this latest update, Google Wallet users now have the option to include cards from as many as six banks in total.

If you’re ready to add your AmBank cards to Google Wallet, simply fire up your app and tap on “Add a card” on the main screen (alternatively, you can tap on “Add to Wallet”, followed by “Payment card”). From there, go ahead and fill in the required details, such as your card number, and verify your information. The card will then be accepted and listed for use on Google Wallet.

AmBank also said that your credit card should be activated immediately after being added to Google Wallet, but sometimes, it may take up to 10 minutes after the request for enrolment is made. If your card is not automatically activated after this time period, do remove it and re-register again. Alternatively, you can contact AmBank’s contact centre at 03-2178 8888 for assistance.

As is the case with other existing credit cards that can already be used on Google Wallet, all the usual transaction limits for your AmBank cards should apply. Any transactions above the usual contactless transaction limit of RM250 should also require you to key in your PIN to complete.

Aside from AmBank, other banks and financial institutions that also allow you to add their cards to Google Wallet include CIMB and CIMB Islamic Bank, Hong Leong and Hong Leong Islamic Bank, HSBC and HSBC Amanah Bank, Public Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, and Wise.

Google Wallet was officially launched in Malaysia in November 2022.
