Hong Leong Bank (HLB) has partnered with Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC) to launch GSC BIG, the latter’s brand-new proprietary premium large format (PLF) screen that is specially designed to provide an improved viewing experience for cinema-goers. In conjunction with this, HLB will offer exclusive deals, alongside opportunities to win prizes at selected GSC cinemas that offer GSC BIG halls.
According to a statement, the new GSC BIG – which is currently available at The Starling Mall and Tropicana Gardens Mall – will wow audiences with its cinema screen that has dimensions of over 20 metres in width, and 10.8 metres in height. It is also powered by a 4k laser projector for superior visuals, and complemented by a 32-channel multi-speaker Dolby Atmos surround sound setup as well as spacious seatings. Selected BIG halls also features recliners and D-BOX motion seats for those who wish for an enhanced experience.
To celebrate this launch, HLB said that customers who apply for a HLB credit card or open a HLB account, or spend a minimum of RM200 on their HLB card (via a maximum of two transactions) at The Starling Mall will stand a chance to redeem various prizes worth up to RM500. Additionally, there will be booths at selected GSC BIG halls where movie-goers can take pictures with family and friends, as well as play games and win exclusive prizes.
“Hong Leong Bank has been our long-standing partner for many years, and we are thrilled to collaborate with them on another milestone to provide movie-goers with a new, captivating cinematic experience,” said the chief executive officer of GSC, Koh Mei Lee, who also stated that the cinema exhibitor will continue to roll out new cinema experiences and promotions with the bank.
GSC and HLB’s partnership is currently in its fourteenth year, beginning with the introduction of the HLB GSC credit card (Gold and Platinum) – Malaysia’s first co-branded credit card with a cinema chain. Cardholders can get up to 10 free movie tickets upon approval, enjoy discounted rates on movie tickets and F&B, as well as earn up to 3x rewards points on their expenses.
Meanwhile, the managing director of personal financial services for HLB, Andrew Jong said that this partnership with GSC will help HLB to better reward its customers with things that they like. “We know our customers love the special deals and rewards for their tickets and concessions, and we want to expand the wonderful movie outing experiences that they have come to expect from HLB and GSC to even BIG-ger moments,” he said.
Aside from GSC The Starling Mall and GSC Tropicana Gardens Mall, GSC BIG will also be steadily rolled out to other GSC theatres across Malaysia, including IOI City Mall (Putrajaya), MyTOWN Shopping Centre (Cheras), and The Spring (Bintulu). It is set to replace existing GSC MAXX, which is being phased out from use.
