BigPay Down; Both App & Physical Card Currently Inaccessible

(Update 12:30am) BigPay is back online. Original article as follows.

If you are experiencing issues using your BigPay prepaid card or even access the BigPay app, you’re not alone. The popular e-wallet app and prepaid card has been offline for the past few hours. Unlike previous times when the BigPay app has experienced downtimes, the physical BigPay prepaid card is also unusable at the moment.

It appears that this episode is quite a big one. Across social media, users are reporting that all BigPay features are offline: the app opens to the main screen but loads indefinitely so you cannot reload or send money, while all prepaid card features including payment and ATM withdrawals are offline. This applies to all BigPay users regardless of location – some users who are abroad also cannot use their BigPay cards.

At the time of writing, the outage has been going on for at least three hours – for an unplanned downtime, this outage looks quite serious. BigPay has not said anything beyond the standard acknowledgement post on its Facebook and Twitter pages.

We will update this article when we hear more about this issue.

(Update 12:30am) BigPay has confirmed that the issue has been rectified, and that all BigPay services are back online.
