Boost Introduces Pay With Coins Feature For Mobile Prepaid Top-Ups
Author Avatar

The Boost app is finally allowing its users to make payments using Boost Coins, but only when buying mobile prepaid top-ups. This feature is available to Boost users who are on Level 5 of its tiered loyalty programme.

Boost users earn Coins from transactions that they carry out on the app and occasionally from Shake rewards. These Coins can be used to redeem vouchers, gifts, insurance plans, and cash in the form of credit in Boost’s Partner Wallets – but until now, it has not been possible for Boost users to use Coins to directly offset any payments made on Boost.

According to Boost, Level 5 Boosties can use their coins to discount up to 10% of their total payment on prepaid top-ups made within the Boost app. All you have to do is choose the amount you wish to deduct using your Coins and confirm payment. In addition to being a Level 5 user, your transaction amount must be more than RM10 and you must have sufficient Coins balance.

Based on the screenshot below, it looks like the rate of redemption for the Pay With Coins feature is between 160 and 165 Coins for every RM1 redeemed. If you redeem RM1 or RM5 off your mobile prepaid top-up, you are using 160 Coins per Ringgit, but if you redeem RM2 off, you are using 165 Coins per Ringgit.

Boost also added that you can make use of Partner Wallet benefits for the transaction alongside the Pay With Coins feature. However, it is not known whether the e-wallet app will extend the Pay With Coins benefit to other payments besides prepaid top-ups. Currently, physical store purchases, web portal payments, and any other payments are explicitly excluded from Pay With Coins.

You can find out more about Pay With Coins in the Rewards section of your Boost app.

Boost Coin is damn useless, inside picture RM5 off is 800coin, now 20/09/2021 RM5 off 850coin. If exchange item, all the rewards require an insane amount of coins that you have to save up for at least half year. In conclusion, Boost coin useless, BoostUP level also useless, their whole reward program is a joke.
