TNG eWallet Technical Difficulties: Users Automatically Logged Out, Notified Of Transactions That They Did Not Perform

(Update: TNG eWallet has announced that its services are up and running again.)

Touch ‘n Go (TNG) eWallet is currently facing some technical issues, with many users stating that they were automatically logged out upon firing up the app. Most attempts to log back in were also initially unsuccessful, while several users who managed to do so eventually said that they are seeing an incorrect account balance or received notifications for transactions that they did not perform.

TNG eWallet has also acknowledged the issue, and stated in an announcement post on Facebook that it is currently working to resolve the matter. “If you have enough balance in your eWallet, you are still able to pay for tolls and parking via PayDirect and RFID,” it further said in the notice, indicating that these two functions are not affected.

Reports of TNG eWallet’s technical issues began flooding in this morning at approximately 10am, with users stating that they were presented with the message “Your log in session has expired. Please log in again” when they tried to use the app. Many of those who attempted to do so are then met with a “Heavy traffic reported” notice, stating that “heavy traffic is causing delays in processing your request.”

As of the time of writing, TNG eWallet appears to have regained some functionality, with most users now able to log back in (although some also said that their attempts were rejected due to “suspicious activity”). However, those who did are now reporting that their account balance is incorrect, and in some cases, both their eWallet and GO+ balance are missing. Some also received notifications for transactions that they did not perform, while others said that they are unable to check their transaction history.

Meanwhile, TNG eWallet urged its users to remain patient as it continues to troubleshoot and rectify the problem. If you are heading out today, be sure to bring some cash with you, or opt for other alternatives and options for your payments instead.
