Lazada Wallet Can Be Used In Physical Stores For The First Time This 12.12

Come 12-15 December 2019, Lazada Malaysia will be running an innovative campaign that brings online and offline shopping together for the first time. The Lazada 12.12 Grand Year End Sale will see Lazada shoppers enjoying offers up to 90% off from 12 of Lazada’s brand partners by using their Lazada Wallet offline.

For the first time, Lazada is making it possible to transact using the Lazada Wallet outside the online shopping platform – well, sort of. As part of the platform’s online to offline (O2O) initiative, Lazada shoppers will be able to purchase brand vouchers on the platform, before completing the transaction at offline retail stores.

From 12 to 13 December, Lazada shoppers will be able to purchase brand cash vouchers at a discount of at least 50% on their Lazada app. Customers can then proceed to any of the brands’ selected offline stores on 14 and 15 December 2019 to shop for exclusive 12.12 products. At the store, the customers will be provided with a QR code to be scanned with the Lazada app. A payment screen will appear and shoppers will need to enter the total amount due. The cash vouchers purchased earlier will be automatically applied, and the remaining payment will be displayed as the subtotal.

To further sweeten the deal, customers will be entitled to an additional 12% discount by paying the remaining subtotal with their Lazada Wallet.

Note that the offline retail locations are currently limited to popular malls within the Klang Valley, such as Sunway Pyramid, Pavilion, Plaza Low Yat, Sunway Velocity Mall, and Lot 10.

“At Lazada, we are committed to delighting our customers through New Retail and new experiences, while also bringing more value to our brands and sellers as the trusted eCommerce partner. By expanding the parameters of the Lazada Wallet to offline stores, we are able to showcase our tech and payment capabilities,” said Chief Executive Officer of Lazada Malaysia, Leo Chow.

Chow also underlined this campaign as a showcase of Lazada’s New Retail innovations, and is a glimpse into the possibilities of what the future of retail can hold for sellers and consumers. Lazada had promoted the idea of “new retail” at its WeCommerce 2019 summit, which is essentially the bringing of online experiences to offline stores.

Lazada’s 12.12 Grand Year End Sale also sees a refreshed version of the app being rolled out, with new features and activities. This includes the Image Search function; a limited-time-only password search activity that lets customers unlock more vouchers by listening in on Media Prima radio stations; and 12.12 LazLive, where livestreams with sellers from 1 to 14 December 2019 also let customers redeem exclusive vouchers, wallet rebates, and deals.
