Shopee Debuts Instant Delivery Service, Available Only In Klang Valley
Author Avatar

Shopee has launched a new shipping option that allows customers to receive their purchases within two hours after the rider or delivery person picks up the parcel from the seller. Dubbed the Instant Delivery service, it is currently offered only in the Klang Valley by participating sellers.

According to Shopee’s support page, the delivery time for this service starts from 9am to 9pm daily, and it is subject to certain conditions. For instance, the parcel must not weigh more than 10kg (per parcel), with a maximum package size of 30cm x 30cm x 30cm (length x width x height). The delivery distance also cannot exceed a maximum of 30km between the seller and the buyer.

Aside from that, Shopee highlighted that selected items like jewelleries, detachable lithium ion batteries, and living things (animals, plants, and so on) are not eligible for this service. Pre-order items, too, do not qualify.

In terms of fees, the Instant Delivery service will be charged according to the distance travelled by the riders when delivering your parcels. It starts with a base fee of RM6 for the first four kilometres (km), then an additional RM1 to be added for every subsequent km travelled.

Shopee further noted that products that are eligible for the Instant Delivery service will be labelled accordingly on their pages, and the option will also be displayed at the checkout page if your area of residence is included. Alternatively, you can use the filter on the platform’s search function to help you find such products more conveniently.

Upon making your purchase, you can track the progress of the delivery partner who handles your Instant Delivery order in real time. Simply head on over to your profile page by tapping on “Me” at the bottom navigation bar, followed by “To Receive” and “View shipping information”. From there, click on “Track Driver Location”.

To celebrate the launch of this new service, Shopee is currently offering RM5 shipping vouchers (min spend RM15) for Instant Deliveries, available from today until 10 October 2023. Each customer is only allowed to redeem the voucher once, regardless of the number of accounts owned, and each voucher can be applied up to a maximum of three orders.
