Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has revealed that you must download the MySejahtera app in order to qualify for the RM50 e-wallet credit offered under the Penjana short-term economic recovery plan.

Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri said that this is to encourage more Malaysians to download the app, which will assist health authorities in efforts to contain the Covid-19 pandemic. The app enables contact tracing at business premises via the use of its QR code.

Under the ePenjana initiative, eligible Malaysians will be given RM50 worth of e-wallet credit as well as an additional RM50 in value through vouchers, cashback, and discounts offered by e-wallet partners. In addition to the new requirement of downloading the MySejahtera app, you must be a Malaysian aged 18 and above and earning less than RM100,000 annually in order to qualify for ePenjana credit. The ePenjana programme will run from July until September 2020.

This e-wallet credit initiative is similar to the previous RM30 digital incentive introduced by the Pakatan Harapan government under its e-Tunai Rakyat programme. However, unlike the e-Tunai Rakyat credit, the ePenjana credit can only be used for offline or physical purchases.

You can download the MySejahtera app on Google Play, the App Store, or the Huawei AppGallery.

If we sign up for the app now will we still be eligible next month? Or should we download the app next month?

How to claim all those benefits? I have downloaded and installed the app but no mention of the incentives being credited to me.
