Mydin has launched the MydinPay e-wallet, making the local wholesaler and retailer the latest player in Malaysia’s e-wallet space.

The MydinPay app has two account tiers: a base Entry Account and the Ultimate Account. The Entry Account does not require eKYC verification process and comes with a maximum wallet size of RM3,000 with basic features such as top up and payments. Meanwhile, the Ultimate Account is unlocked via eKYC verification which offers a larger RM10,000 wallet limit and more features including fund transfers and withdrawals.

Reloading the MydinPay e-wallet can only be done via online banking currently, as the debit and credit card reload feature is not yet available. Besides the scan and pay feature, the app also offers various services including hotel and flight bookings, parking, telco and utility bill payments, and council payments.

As part of its launch promo, the first 1,000 users to download the app will automatically be rewarded with RM5 credited to the user’s wallet. In addition, the first 3,000 customers who spend RM150 or more in any MYDIN outlet will enjoy a 5% cashback (capped at RM7.50) reward from now until 31 July 2024.

The MydinPay app was developed by WavPay and the retailer was the first to subscribe to the company’s white label e-wallet service. You can download the MydinPay app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store
