UOB GetBanker App Matches Property Buyers With UOB Mortgage Specialists

Inspired by ride-hailing apps, UOB Malaysia has launched a new mobile app that helps match property buyers with UOB’s team of mortgage specialists and help streamline the property buying process. The UOB GetBanker app is another effort by UOB to utilise technology to improve its customer experience and make it easier and smarter.

By using the new mobile app, property buyers or agents will be able to search for a specific mortgage banker based on residential or commercial properties, location, and price. Besides the app’s core feature of matching property buyers with property agents, it also includes a number of commonly-used features. Users can find the latest interest rates for residential and commercial loans directly from the app, while the loan calculator allows users to estimate the monthly loan repayments. Finally, the app will match you with the mortgage specialist on the day itself (during office hours), allow you to rate the specialist on their services, and also add them as a favourite for future use.

“As a bank with a sizeable residential mortgage loan portfolio, we know that homebuyers, especially first-time homebuyers will sometimes feel overwhelmed by the property purchasing transaction. Mortgage bankers with the relevant expertise and training will be assigned to advise homebuyers through the GetBanker app,” UOB Malaysia Managing Director and Country Head of Personal Financial Services, Ronnie Lim said.

The government recently introduced incentives for first-time homeowners and a good supply of houses that are priced between RM400,000 to RM600,000 will encourage more Malaysians to join the property market. Property agents and buyers will have access to more than 290 residential and commercial mortgage specialists across UOB’s network nationwide.

UOB Malaysia Executive Director and Country Head of Business Banking, Raymond Chui added that the new mobile app will also enable small-and-medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to access commercial property lending facilities quickly and efficiently.

The launch of the app is timely, as UOB expects more new homebuyers to enter the housing market within the next few years. The UOB GetBanker app is available on both Google Play and the Apple App Store.
