Grab Malaysia Rolls Out New GrabFood Dine-In Feature
Author Avatar

Grab has introduced a new GrabFood feature called Dine-In for its Malaysian users, which is aimed at helping them to explore and discover restaurants that they can visit in their vicinity or in a particular area. It also comes with the ability to purchase discount vouchers ahead of time so that you can enjoy savings when dining at your chosen restaurants.

According to Grab, the Dine-In feature will let users quickly view a restaurant’s profile and key details, like its menu, opening hours, location, as well as ratings and reviews from other GrabFood users. It is also linked to the GrabRide function for convenience, so that you can book a ride to the restaurant directly from the eatery’s profile page when you’re ready to go, instead of having to navigate back to the main screen to do so.

Another perk provided via GrabFood Dine-In is the dine-in vouchers that you can purchase in advance to use at the restaurants that you aim to visit. Grab noted that depending on restaurants, these vouchers may offer up to 50% discount.

Of course, note that most of these vouchers will have some conditions to use, such as its validity period and time/days that it can be used – so be sure to check beforehand!

Additionally, Grab users tapping into the new GrabFood Dine-In feature are allowed to split their dining bills at restaurants into instalment payments via PayLater by Grab if they wish to. Aside from being able to enjoy payment flexibility, Grab is also currently running a campaign where you can get a RM15 discount at selected restaurants (or other stores) when you use the buy-now-pay-later (BNPL) payment option for in-store services. In fact, certain merchants may even let you to enjoy maximum savings by stacking your purchased dine-in vouchers along with the RM15 PayLater by Grab discount.

To access the GrabFood Dine-In feature, go ahead and tap on the GrabFood tile on your main screen. From there, simply select “Dine-In”, and you’re ready to explore nearby restaurants by entering your location. As you browse through the list of available restaurants around you (or in a preferred area), you can already purchase any preferred dine-in vouchers that appeal to you. If you do get a dine-in voucher to use at a particular restaurant, remember to inform the restaurant staff when you arrive so that they are aware.

Prior to rolling out GrabFood Dine-In in Malaysia, Grab had launched the pilot feature in Singapore earlier in June 2023 as part of its beta test. Grab said then that Dine-In was introduced because people are once again eating out, and the tech giant hopes to make it more convenient for users to discover new eateries around them, as well as bring in potential new sales to its merchant partners.
