Shopee has now expanded its food delivery service, ShopeeFood, to Johor Bahru, with users in the area able to make orders on the platform starting from today (24 February 2022). However, the expanded service is currently available only in selected areas within Johor Bahru, such as Tampoi, and Setia Tropika – although it is set to include more areas soon.

Prior to this latest update, ShopeeFood – which was launched back in September 2021 – was accessible only to Shopee users living in the Klang Valley. This expansion to Johor Bahru is ShopeeFood’s first foray outside of the Klang Valley.

In a statement, ShopeeFood said that the new service will feature a range of international and local food merchants that are available in Johor Bahru, including Shake Shake, Soon Café, Banafee Village, Gatao Fried Chicken, and Anmour Café.

“We are delighted with the positive response that we have received in Klang Valley and would like to bring the same convenience to Shopee users in Johor Bahru. We hope that this service will not only benefit users by offering more choices, but also encourage more food and beverage merchants to move online and reach out to more customers, driving long-term growth in the digital age,” said the head of business development for ShopeeFood Malaysia, Wong Chee Mun.

In conjunction with ShopeeFood’s expansion to Johor Bahru, users will be able to enjoy a variety of perks between today until 28 February 2022. These include free deliveries, discounts of up to 40% on selected food and beverages, as well as exclusive access to a contest with prizes such as KitchenAid products and ShopeeFood vouchers worth up to RM8,000.
