Touch ‘n Go (TNG) Group has teamed up with MR DIY Group (M) Bhd in a bid to offer an improved customer experience via both online and offline avenues. Specifically, this will be done by providing more benefits and better convenience, as well as by personalising store offers to match the needs of each customer.
According to a joint statement by both parties, the collaboration will see MR DIY becoming a prominent feature in the TNG eWallet. With this, 16 million TNG eWallet users will be able to seamlessly browse through MR DIY’s catalogue, order and pay for their purchases, as well as have their purchases delivered or prepared for pick-up at their preferred outlets. This particular feature is slated to be rolled out in the third quarter of 2021.
Additionally, the partnership will also involve the implementation of various analytics and personalisation initiatives in the near future. This will allow TNG eWallet users to gain access to customised and more relevant offers from MR DIY.
On top of that, TNG customers are able to reload their Touch ‘n Go cards at all MR DIY stores, as well as use the TNG eWallet to pay for online and in-store purchases at MR DIY. MR DIY is also currently one of TNG eWallet’s regular partners for its Goal Hunter loyalty programme, with cashback vouchers provided for redemption.
In announcing the collaboration, the group chief executive officer of TNG Group, Effendy Shahul Hamid said that success in the present business environment requires strong partnerships with like-minded brands. This allows the delivery of a clear value proposition to customers and users. “We think that we have a perfect partner in MR DIY, and together we hope to pave the way for superior offerings for both our sets of customers,” he said.
Effendy also said that TNG and MR DIY are both iconic homegrown brands with a strong view of being hyper customer-centric. Both have an unending focus on delivering superior value across the customer experience chain.
Meanwhile, the chief executive officer of MR DIY, Adrian Ong said that the company is constantly looking for new and innovative ways to make MR DIY more accessible to customers nationwide.
“This partnership with TNG is a major step in making shopping at MR DIY cashless and rewarding. More importantly, this move makes shopping at MR DIY even more convenient by taking our promise of ‘Always Low Prices’ right into the screens and devices of customers. This is a major milestone in our aim of becoming the nation’s preferred retailer, and we thank the TNG team for making it happen,” said Ong.
