Maybank Enables LHDN Payment On MAE App, Simplifies Payment Process On Maybank2u Web

Maybank has said that it will be enabling a new online payment option for customers who wish to make payments to Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri (LHDN), namely through the MAE by Maybank2u (MAE) app. Set to take effect starting from 1 August 2023, this will be another online channel that Maybank customers can use, aside from the Maybank2u website.

In its notice, Maybank reminded that all clients who want to make online payments to LHDN must first obtain their Bill Number from their MyTax account beforehand. Once you’ve obtained the detail, go ahead and fire up your MAE app, then follow these few steps:

  • Select “Pay Bills” under Quick Actions.
  • Tap on “Pay Bills” under New Payment, and search for “LHDN” in the dropdown list.
  • Enter your 16-digit Bill Number and verify the details.
  • Authorise the payment via Secure2u, and you’re done!

In addition to enabling LHDN payments on the MAE app, Maybank said that it will also be enhancing and simplifying the LHDN payment process for the Maybank2u online banking website – set to take effect on 23 July. For context, the current payment process is somewhat more tedious, requiring customers to enter information such as the corporation name (LHDN Semenanjung, Sabah or Sarawak – according to your tax centre location), payment code, year of assessment (YA), instalment number, and amount.

With the simplified process, those who want to make payments to LHDN via the Maybank2u website will only need to take the following steps:

  • Log in to the Maybank2u online banking website, go to the “Pay & Transfer” tab, and select “Pay”.
  • Under “Pay From”, select your preferred account to make payments from.
  • Under “Payee”, click on “New Payment” and select “Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri (LHDN)”.
  • Enter your 16-digit Bill Number and verify the details.
  • Authorise the payment via Secure2u on the MAE app.

Aside from the MAE app and the Maybank2u online banking website, other payment channels that are also available to Maybank customers when making payments to LHDN include Maybank’s automated teller machines (ATMs), credit cards, and FPX payment. These LHDN transactions may include your income tax and real property gains tax (RPGT) payments, as well as monthly tax deductions.
