Maybank Revises Operating Hours For Customer Service Hotline Due To Covid-19 Spike

Maybank has revised its customer service hotline operating hours from 9am to 6pm, from Mondays to Fridays. This is due to the recent spike in Covid-19 cases.

“The team will, however, continue to operate 24/7 for critical services such as lost or stolen cards, fraud-related issues, ATM/self-service terminal queries, and Maybank2u password-related matters,” the bank shared in a statement. Maybank’s customer service hotline originally also operates 24 hours per day, seven days a week (including holidays).

Maybank further noted that customers can also email their enquiries to mgcc@maybank.com.my or connect with its personnel via the live chat function on the Maybank2u website.

Meanwhile, numerous Maybank customers who tried calling the hotline yesterday have commented on the bank’s social media that they were repeatedly put on hold for an extended period, with some even up to an hour. Others also said that their calls failed despite trying several times. This includes the hotline for premier card services.

Yet other customers reported that alternative communication channels – such as emails and the live chat – received no replies from the bank. Maybank, in turn, said that it is currently experiencing a high volume of calls and is operating on minimal resources, but promised to assist its customers accordingly.

Maybank’s Customer Care Hotline is 1-300-88-6688 (Malaysia) or +603 7844 3696 (overseas).
