Maybank To Move Selected ASNB Account Services From Maybank2u App To MAE App
Author Avatar

Maybank has alerted customers that effective 7 October 2022, selected functions of its Amanah Saham Nasional Berhad (ASNB) services will be permanently moved from the Maybank2u mobile banking app to the MAE by Maybank2u (MAE) app. This is in a bid to offer Maybank customers an improved mobile banking experience.

Specifically, two functions under Maybank’s ASNB account services will be relocated from the Maybank2u app to the MAE app:

  • View own and child’s account balance(s)
  • Make transfers to own account(s) via Favourites

Once the move is completed in October, customers can proceed to manage their ASNB accounts within the MAE app via the following steps:

View account balanceTransfer to own account
– Launch MAE app and select “Maybank2u” from the navigation bar at the bottom
– Log in and tap on “Wealth” from the top navigation
– Select “ASNB Accounts” to view your account balances
– Launch MAE app and select “Transfer” from Quick Actions
– Log in and select “ASNB” from the top navigation
– Select your account under “Favourites”, and key in your desired amount before completing your transfer*

* Select “ASNB Transfer” under New Transfer instead if you wish to perform new transfers

Maybank also reassured customers that all their account details and saved favourites will be made accessible through the MAE app after the update; this means you won’t have to key in and save your details again in your MAE app. Alternatively, those who prefer not to conduct these ASNB transactions through the MAE app can also log in to the Maybank2u website to do so.

This update is likely spurred by the fact that Maybank2u app will eventually be phased out in the future, to be replaced by the MAE app. This was confirmed back in October 2020, when the MAE app was first rolled out. However, Maybank did not reveal a set date for the official removal of the Maybank2u app at that time.

You can download the MAE app for free from Google Play, the App Store, and Huawei AppGallery. If you have any enquiries about this latest update, you can also email Maybank at [email protected].
