Standard Chartered Also Shares Supported Cards, Promos For Apple Pay
Author Avatar

Standard Chartered has joined Maybank and AmBank as one of the earliest banks in Malaysia to enable support for Apple Pay, following its arrival in Malaysia today. Given this development, customers can already link their Standard Chartered payment cards to their Apple Pay.

Note that all credit cards by Standard Chartered can be paired with Apple Pay for use, except for card type 897. If your credit card type is 897, you’re then urged to apply for Standard Chartered’s latest card type, or to reach out to the bank’s contact centre for further assistance. Aside from that, you also cannot link Standard Chartered’s debit cards to Apple Pay.

To pair your Standard Chartered credit card with Apple Pay, you do so via the Standard Chartered SC mobile app by clicking on the “Add to Apple Wallet” button found beside your credit card. Alternatively, you may also opt to add your card via the Apple Wallet in your device. Do be aware that you’re allowed to add each Standard Chartered card to a maximum of 10 devices (per card/account).

Once your card is linked, you’re ready to use Apple Pay for your transactions at any merchants that accept contactless payments, in addition to supported apps and websites!

Similar to AmBank, Standard Chartered is also celebrating its pairing with Apple Pay with an exclusive promo. Running from today until 18 August 2022, Standard Chartered customers who link their credit cards with Apple Pay and make their first Apple Pay transaction during the campaign period will be able to enjoy up to 100% cashback (capped at RM10).
