AmBank Reveals Supported Cards, Exclusive Promos For Apple Pay
Author Avatar

Aside from Maybank and Standard Chartered, AmBank has also been confirmed as one of the banks that enabled support for Apple Pay, which has officially made its way to Malaysia. With this, the bank’s Apple Pay page has now also gone live, providing its customers with key information, such as which AmBank cards can be linked to Apple Pay and more.

In its FAQ, AmBank confirmed that all AmBank and AmBank Islamic credit cards can be linked to Apple Pay for use, with the exception of the AmBank UnionPay credit card. The AmBank Debit Mastercard, too, is excluded from this support. Additionally, you can add your AmBank or AmBank Islamic card to a maximum of four devices (per card).

AmBank also clarified that the transaction limit for Apple Pay payments is only subjected to the credit limit of the customer’s card. This is unlike contactless or payWave transactions made using physical AmBank credit cards, where there is a RM250 limit per transaction (after which you must key in your PIN) or RM750 cumulative limit daily.

To celebrate the arrival of Apple Pay, AmBank has rolled out several campaigns that reward customers who tap into the sought-after payment method. One promo, for instance, allows you to earn 50% cashback on your first Apple Pay transaction (capped at RM20), while another offers RM50 cashback with a minimum spend of RM849 at selected merchants via Apple Pay. There also exclusive sign-up offers of up to RM218 cashback for new AmBank cardholders who tap into Apple Pay.
