Maybank has announced that it is lowering the minimum annual spending requirement for selected credit cards this year. For the year 2021, the amount of spending required to waive the annual fee will be reduced from RM80,000 to RM50,000.

The credit cards that are eligible for the lowered waiver requirement are as follows:

According to Maybank, the move was made in response to its customers’ evolving needs among the ongoing pandemic. “This measure is a gesture of our appreciation for your support for Maybank Cards and we look forward to continue serving you,” the bank said.

Do note that the revision will take effect automatically for cards with anniversaries between May and December 2021. For cardholders with anniversaries from January to April 2021, the annual fee will be manually reversed on 1 April as long as the spending requirement is met.
