Google Play Store Allows Payments Via Touch ‘n Go eWallet
Author Avatar

Touch ‘n Go eWallet users will now be able to pay for their purchases on Google Play Store using the eWallet. This is following the mobile platform’s update to its accepted payment methods, where Touch ‘n Go eWallet is currently listed as its sole e-wallet payment option.

“You can use Touch ‘n Go eWallet to buy apps and digital content on Google Play. You need a registered Touch ‘n Go eWallet account with enough balance to use this service on Google Play,” noted Google Play on its support page.

To tap into this new service, you will need to first activate your Touch ‘n Go eWallet as a payment option. You can do so by following these few steps:

  • Select “Payment methods” in the Google Play drop-down menu.
  • Tap on “Add Touch ‘n Go eWallet”, and then “Continue”.
  • Key in your phone number and 6-digit PIN.
  • Agree to the terms and conditions, and then authorise the process.
  • Enter the OTP sent to your mobile number.

Once done, you’re good to go! In fact, if you’re ready to make your first Google Play Store purchase soon, you can consider tapping into an ongoing cashback campaign by Touch ‘n Go – slated to end on 30 April 2021. The promotion allows Touch ‘n Go eWallet users who make their first ever Google Play payment to receive full cashback on their purchases, capped at RM5. Note, though, that this promotion is offered on a first-come first-served basis, limited to the first 90,000 customers.

Aside from Touch ‘n Go eWallet, you can also pay for your Google Play purchases via credit and debit cards, mobile phone billing, as well as Google Play balance and gift cards. Meanwhile, unsupported payment methods include wire transfers, bank transfers, and Western Union transactions.

In addition to Google Play, Touch ‘n Go eWallet has also made its payment services available on the App Store, Apple Music, and iTunes Store since 2019.
