Touch ‘n Go (TNG) eWallet has enhanced its Amanah Saham Nasional Berhad (ASNB) investment feature so that users can now conveniently and directly register for a new ASNB account through the platform. With this, TNG eWallet becomes the only e-wallet in Malaysia to offer such a service, eliminating the need for physical branch visits.
According to TNG eWallet, new ASNB users can open an account in “just one minute” by completing an onboarding form, with a minimum initial investment of RM10 in either a fixed price or variable price fund. To start the process, here are the few steps that you’ll need to take:
If you need more help, here’s a video guide from TNG eWallet for better clarity:
“Since the launch of ASNB investment on TNG eWallet in August 2023, we’ve empowered 12 million ASNB unitholders to digitally access and invest in all ASNB funds through their e-wallet. With this latest enhancement, we cement our position as a pioneer in seamless digital onboarding to new users above 18 years old,” said the chief executive officer of TNG Digital, Alan Ni.
Ni also said that this milestone underscores TNG Digital and TNG eWallet’s dedication to redefining convenience and financial empowerment through digital inclusion. This ultimately ensures that every Malaysian has access to financial investment opportunities.
For those who are interested in opening a new ASNB account via TNG eWallet, don’t forget to also tap into an ongoing campaign where first-time investors can enjoy a rebate of RM1 if they do so on the platform! This promotion is set to run until 30 June 2024.
For context, the initial launch of the ASNB investment feature on TNG eWallet came with limited functionalities. At that time, users were only allowed to tap into services like accessing their personal or dependent accounts, checking their total investments, viewing fund breakdowns, reviewing transaction history, and subscribe to new funds or investing in existing funds for own account and dependents. For account onboarding and investment redemption, you were still required to use the myASNB app or portal, or reach out to an agent.
