TNG eWallet Removed From Apple App Store, Existing Users Not Affected

iPhone users who wish to install the Touch ‘n Go (TNG) eWallet app in their phones will find that they’re currently unable to do so, as the app has been removed from the Apple App Store.

Specifically, a search for TNG eWallet on the App Store at present will only yield listings for other similar apps instead. Meanwhile, if you try the direct link to the app (such as via TNG eWallet’s official page here), you will encounter an error message stating that “[t]his app is currently not available in your country or region”.

Understandably, this matter has also raised concern among iPhone users who already have TNG eWallet installed in their phones, with many of them wondering if the funds in their existing app will be safe. While TNG eWallet has yet to release an official statement on this matter, it did reply to comments from worried users on its social media, stating that it is already working with Apple to resolve the issue. It also reassured that all features on the eWallet will not be affected for existing users.

Here’s one of its replies reproduced in full:

“Thank you for reaching out to us. We hear you and apologise for the inconvenience caused. You may rest assured that we are currently working on this matter with Apple.

We would like to assure you all the features on your eWallet are not affected. You may perform your usage on your eWallet as per normal.

Do bear with us and we will update you once it is resolved. Your kind understanding is much appreciated.”

Aside from this, no explanation was provided as to why the app may have been delisted from Apple’s digital distribution platform. That said, apps may be (temporarily) removed for several reasons, including undisclosed maintenance or updates, on top of violation of the platform’s condition of use. To note, TNG eWallet recently rolled out a top-up feature that’s paired with its new enhanced TNG card, allowing users to reload the card via near-field communication (NFC) technology.

Meanwhile, TNG eWallet can still be found on and downloaded from the Google Play Store and the Huawei AppGallery as usual.
