Lazada Introduces QR Payment Option For COD Orders

E-commerce platform Lazada has rolled out a new QR payment option for customers who make cash on delivery (COD) orders, with the funds being deducted directly from their Lazada Wallet balance.

With this, customers who opt for the COD payment method will be able to pay for their purchases at the time of delivery by producing a QR payment code on their Lazada app, which can then be scanned by the delivery rider. The amount will then be deducted from their Lazada Wallet.

This new payment alternative is an addition to two other payment methods that you can also opt for when you make COD orders: cash and DuitNow QR payment on delivery. To clarify, the DuitNow QR payment method differs from this new QR payment option in that it requires you to scan a DuitNow QR code that will be presented to you upon receiving your deliveries, with the funds being drawn from your preferred DuitNow account (instead of your Lazada Wallet).

If you’d like to check out Lazada’s new QR payment code option, it can be accessed from your Lazada Wallet page in the app; tap on the QR Payment tile to begin utilising it. First-time users will be required to verify their identities by entering an SMS code, after which they will have continuous access to their payment code.

Lazada also stressed that you must ensure that there is sufficient fund in your Lazada Wallet for successful payments. Alternatively, you can enable the auto-top up function to avoid any payment failures. Discount vouchers that are valid for your COD purchase will also be applied directly after your QR payment code has been scanned by the delivery rider.

Finally, do be aware that this new payment method is currently available only for deliveries that are made by Lazada Express (LEX). Other logistics partners that Lazada also employs include PosLaju, Ninja Van, and GDEX.
