Temu Partners With Atome To Offer Interest-Free Instalment Payment Options
Author Avatar

Temu has announced a partnership with Atome allowing customers to select a flexible payment method during checkout. This collaboration enables Malaysian shoppers to enjoy interest-free instalment payment options across a wide range of products.

Additionally, new Atome users will benefit from exclusive discount vouchers with their first purchase on Temu, further enhancing affordability and accessibility.

The partnership comes as online shopping continues to grow rapidly in Malaysia, driven by increasing digital adoption and evolving consumer habits. According to Ipsos Malaysia’s 2024 E-commerce Landscape Report, nearly one in two Malaysians shopped online in 2024, with significant growth among those aged 18-24 and 35-44. Popular product categories included fashion, accessories, electronics, and homecare items.

Malaysia’s position as a regional e-commerce hub is also becoming increasingly prominent, with the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) reporting that the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and e-commerce sectors contributed MYR 427.7 billion to the national economy in 2023, marking a 3.9% increase from the previous year.

Andy Tan, Chief Commercial Officer at Atome Financial, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, highlighting Temu’s rapid rise in popularity over the past 18 months. He emphasised that integrating Atome as a payment option would provide millions of Malaysian Temu customers with greater choice, convenience, and flexibility, significantly enhancing their shopping experience.
