Alliance Bank is revising the benefits of the Alliance Visa Infinite credit card, reducing the Timeless Bonus Points (TBP) awarded for domestic retail transactions and removing complimentary access to airport lounges.
Currently, Alliance Bank Visa Infinite cardholders are entitled to complimentary Priority Pass Membership to enjoy access to over 850 VIP lounges worldwide, with the number of complimentary visits depending on the cumulative retail spending for the current year. The card also rewarded unlimited access to KLIA 1’s Plaza Premium Lounge with no spending condition. From 1 August, these benefits will no longer be available.
Besides that, another change to the Alliance Visa Infinite’s benefits is that the TBP awarded for every RM1 spent on domestic retail transactions will be reduced from 2x to 1x points. On the bright side, the TBP awarded for overseas retail transactions will be maintained at its 5x rate. This means it is still one of the best credit cards for air miles conversion for overseas transactions.
Meanwhile, complimentary access to Plaza Premium Lounge KLIA 1 is also offered to Alliance Bank Platinum credit card holders who are Alliance Privilege Banking or Alliance Personal customers. Alliance Bank has likewise stated that complimentary access for these Platinum cardholders will be removed on 1 August as well.
Alliance Bank had earlier announced changes to the TBP benefits for the Alliance Bank Platinum; Platinum cardholders now earn 1x TBP for petrol, groceries, and utilities instead of 2x as of 1 July. The TBP award rates for the Alliance Bank Gold and You:nique Rewards were also affected.
