Maybank2u App Sunset Continues, To Be Removed From App Stores On 30 June 2024
Author Avatar

Maybank is taking the next step in sunsetting its Maybank2u app by removing it from all app stores on 30 June 2024, making it unavailable for download for future use. The app will also no longer receive updates as Maybank continues to encourage remaining users to move to the MAE app.

According to a notice from Maybank, current users who have the Maybank2u app installed can still use it after 30 June “until further notice”. However, given that Maybank has been progressively moving key features away from being activated on Maybank2u – notably the Secure2u transaction authorisation feature in October 2022 – the bank continues to strongly encourage existing users to migrate to MAE.

The MAE app, which was launched in 2020, had been earmarked as the sole mobile banking app for Maybank since its launched. It has all the functions available on the current Maybank2u app and adds more features and security measures for a better online banking experience.

Maybank also added a few extra FAQs to address potential concerns from existing Maybank2u app users. Meanwhile, the MAE app can be downloaded from the Apple App Store, Google Play, and Huawei AppGallery.
