Come 23 September 2020, Shopee will upgrade its ShopeePay e-wallet to provide users with an increased e-wallet size. Additionally, it will introduce a higher daily checkout limit, along with new monthly and yearly transaction limits.
Following this update, ShopeePay’s e-wallet size for Basic and Premium accounts will be increased to the following amounts:
| Current ShopeePay e-wallet limit | New ShopeePay e-wallet limit after 23 September | |
| Basic account | RM500 | RM2,999 |
| Premium account | RM1,500 | RM4,999 |
This update will also see the daily transaction limit revised to RM2,999 for Basic accounts and RM4,999 for Premium accounts, from the current RM1,000 previously. Additionally, ShopeePay is introducing a new monthly and yearly checkout limit for its customers, restricting them to expenses of RM4,999 per month and RM59,999 per year.
In its “pre-hype” announcement, Shopee said that this upgrade will offer an enhanced and seamless shopping experience – both online and offline – as customers can make instant payment for their purchases without having to resort to credit/debit cards, online banking, or cash payments.

With the increased e-wallet size, customers can also avoid the hassle of having to frequently top-up their ShopeePay e-wallet as they shop. On top of that, it is now also more convenient for them to make big-ticket purchases, such as home appliances, mobile gadgets, electronics, and designer items.
The ShopeePay e-wallet was first launched in July last year, with its use limited only to purchases on the e-commerce platform. Since then, Shopee has expanded its e-wallet features to allow for offline payments at selected stores nationwide as well. A subsequent partnership with Revenue Group saw Shopee gearing to enable ShopeePay’s offline payment at even more merchant payment touchpoints across Malaysia.

I made a single purchase of RM4399 with shopee Pay and it was cancelled by the seller because the item was out of stock, I have also top up rm600 in my shopee pay for other purchases. and still have a balance of RM424 in Shopee pay, because of that cancellation, I am unable to use shopee Pay for another 30 days or 1 month bacause of the limit even the puchase/order was cancelled not my fault. this is not fair to me as I can only use rm600 on that month
