Touch n’ Go (TNG) eWallet is revising the maximum monthly limit allowed for eWallet top-ups using reload PINs, reducing it from the current RM5,000 per month to RM1,500 per month. This new cap is slated to take effect starting from 14 April 2022.
TNG eWallet’s existing RM5,000 limit for PIN reloads was itself introduced just at the end of 2021. Prior to that, users were not limited by any monthly caps when reloading their TNG eWallet using reload PINs; they could purchase as many reload PINs as they wished, and reload as frequently as they wanted.
Meanwhile, other manual reload methods will continue to maintain the same maximum limits that they always have. The maximum reload amount via debit and credit cards, as well as online banking via FPX will be restricted by the users’ banking limits and the size of their eWallet size.

That said, this latest revision of the maximum monthly limit allowed for top-ups via reload PINs will affect users’ experience in utilising the eWallet, especially when paired with another recent TNG eWallet update which splits users’ eWallet balance into two categories: transferable and non-transferable balance.
To note, transferable balance is described as any eWallet balance that does not come from a credit card cash in or reload (such as, balance that is reloaded via online banking or TNG reload PINs). Non-transferable balance, meanwhile, refers to any top-up amount that comes from a credit card or government initiatives. In turn, these categories will determine the types of transactions that you can perform.
With the maximum limit for reload PINs now reduced to RM1,500 per month, users will have to rely more often on other permitted top-up methods if they wish to top up their transferable balance.
