Starting from 15 January 2020, customers at Sogo department stores will be able opt for cashless payment for their purchases. This comes as Sogo embarks on a joint venture with Revenue Group Bhd to enable QR payment and NETS acceptance in-store.
Revenue Group, a local cashless payment solutions provider established since 2003, will be providing Sogo with 200 smart digital payment terminals to assist with the initiative.

“The smart digital payment can handle a myriad mobile QR code payment service, including Alipay, Boost, Touch ‘n Go, UnionPay QR, and GrabPay, as well as NETS card, making payment management simpler and more efficient for Sogo,” said the managing director and group chief executive officer of Revenue Group, Eddie Ng Chee Siong.
The smart digital payment terminals will be used in Sogo’s department stores in Kuala Lumpur, Central i-City Mall in Shah Alam, as well as The Mall, Mid Valley Southkey in Johor Bahru.
Ng added that Sogo’s adoption of smart digital payment terminals is fitting as it will translate to higher revenue for Sogo from its electronic transaction processing services.

The move is also just in time for the launch of e-Tunai Rakyat initiative, the government’s one-off digital stimulus which kicks off on the same day.
The e-Tunai Rakyat initiative will be helmed by Touch ‘n Go eWallet, Boost, and GrabPay as the official e-wallet partners – all of which are supported by Sogo’s new payment terminals.
